For this reason, it’s not a bad idea to denounce any person who has scammed you on the Internet so that more people can be saved from these thieves before more people get hurt.

Unfortunately, frauds and scams are increasing worldwide, especially now that we are in a global recession. And sadly many scammers are heartless individuals who many times target the most vulnerable populations in our society: the elderly. This is cruel and deplorable. Every day someone in the world someone is victimized by a cold hearted scam artist. 

In many cases, victims lose everything and fall into poverty. The very least you should do is denounce the scammer so you can warn others before they too become victims. Many scammers prey on the elderly, resulting in an increase in poverty in society.

If you have the resources you can sue a con artist in court. However, it’s going to be very difficult for you to recover any money you lost to a scammer through the legal system. Unfortunately, many scammers are very clever and know how to cheat the system. Many of them are skilled in cheating the legal ssytem.

First of all, if you have no evidence (signatures, documents, receipts, witnesses, etc.), it is going to be very difficult to win a court case against a scammer. Secondly, even if you win the case in court, it remains a challenge to recover any lost money. Many scammers are also very clever when it comes to hiding their stolen fortunes. 

Therefore, many scammers lose in court, but they walk out of court laughing because they know that their stolen money is well hidden. And in many cases, victims of scam artists wait many years for money that never comes.

Another disadvantage of the "legal system" is that in the US “financial crimes” are not punished as much as other crimes. Unfortunately, in the US a person who swindles many people for hundreds or thousands (or millions of dollars) and is usually found guilty, is sentenced to one to three years in prison. Now compare this with someone who is arrested for selling marijuana or cocaine. A drug-related conviction can carry 10 to 20 years in prison.

While the government does not treat financial thieves as criminals, they will continue to taunt the legal system. 1 to 3 years in prison is nothing if you have a fortune waiting outside. If you compare the harsh sentences given to drug-related offenses, financial criminals in the United States have it easy. While drug offenders and violent criminals face long prison sentences, financial offenders receive a slap on the wrist.

Now of course there are some exceptions. But most financial criminals do not receive the adequate justice they deserve. Unfortunately, for this reason, today most scammers are not afraid of the law or the judges. You could tell a scammer "I'll sue you" but this does not scare the skilled con artist.

Surely the scammer hid his money in a secret place (perhaps in another country) or under the name of another person. So, even if you win in court, the more likely scenario is that the scammer hid most of his stolen money out of the reach of the legal system. And seriously, why should these scammers or financial criminals be afraid of the justice system if most of them always get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist?

Ok, so now that you know that in the US the legal system does not scare the most agile scam artist. So what other options do victims have? Is there anything else that can be used to bring some justice to the victims?

Yes, there is another option. And the other option is called the Internet. The Internet is something that many scammers fear because a ruined reputation online is a ruined reputation in the world. And ultimately, this means it will be harder for them to con other people. 

Today, thanks to the Internet, anyone can expose a con artist easily. Technology has made it easy to expose con artists on a global scale and with a click of the mouse. The only thing you really need to expose a con artist is a picture or image of the person who scammed you.

If people see so many complaints online about a particular scammer, it will be harder for them to scam more people. The image is warning everyone out there, hey “watch out for this person,” who is unreliable and has a bad reputation. What a shame!

There are hundreds if not thousands of photos and complaints against scammers on the Internet worldwide and in all languages. Just do a search on "Google" with the word "scam artist" and you will see many links to websites that expose scammers. That's what I did and in a few minutes I saw many photos and reports of scammers all over the world and in many different languages.

Thanks to the Internet, technology today is helping victims fight back against scammers like never before. The Internet has become a nightmare for scammers. A damaged online reputation can ruin a person's life. And the good news is that anyone can expose a scammer online and in complete anonymity, and the scammer will not know who wrote it.
